19.3.09 - 5.4.09

Opps i've been lazy been maining to upload it for ages got another one waiting to upload and another film nearly finnished but i'll hold out a week for the next one.

Anways lets go:


This is chris trying out a 5x4 camera. I love yousing them even if they are a bit of a pain i just wish i could warrent spending money on one :(


Hogan Knows best.
This shot was taken when me and chris trekked all over town trying to find some chilli's for props for a 5x4 still life assigment in which we had to copy a traditional still life artwork. We ended up having to walk to the other side of town and pay ridiculous price for some.


This is photoshop/web desgin wizz kid dan (see he's work here soon as hes helping redesing this place) he's small, blonde and funny. In the background you can see his set up for the 5x4 shoot he did. (photoshop free)...


This is our set up we spent hours trying to get it to look right with the Depth of feild and reciprocity calculations etc until it was pointed out that the camera we where using was infact broken so it was all for nothing. Oh and it was a friggin sweet pepper we needed after all that trekking around and you could buy them near buy for 20p grrr.


Uh Oh oceana again. I might start doing a series of night club life portratures. I don't rember what happend that night as usual

Food at the royal london. I seem to eat out about 75% of the time i enjoy it even if it is expensive this time it was food with chris and lynzo.


Went to an interesting talk and gallery exhibition opening with photographer Michelle Sank it was pretty interesting and she had some really god work. Oh and not to metion the free wine is always a good point.

This is a shot at ogmoore by the sea. When ever I go to cardiff me and faye always go and hang out at different beaches. I love it, it's nace and relaxing and is always a good time.

10.3.09 - 19.3.09

Fire services themed night at oceana. Very messy night I didn't make it passed 1am cos i drunk a wee bit to much. I was happily drink away and feeling a little bit queasy and needed to pee so i went of to the toilets and when i got there i thought. "hmm i better go in to a cubical to be safe" walked in started pee and then it happened just as i finnished a projectile vomit in to the toilet paper holder in front of me which when it hit it caused it to rebound off and completely cover 3 walls of the cubical and just when i thought that was over it happened again.

I was feeling pretty haggard by this point so from what i remember I stumbled back inside and ended up sat in the corner on one of the seats just completely spaced out. I must of ben there for about 20mins when faye ran over to me to drag me to the over side to see a friend. As i finished stumbling over and said alright it happened again so faye drag me of upstairs to get some fresh air in the smoking area, but on the way i collapsed at the bottom of the stairs and wouldn't move so she had to try and get soem one to help her pick me up which know one did (thanks assholes).

Eventualy i got up and got up the stairs, so she sat me down in the corner next to a plant pot so the bouncers wouldn't see me and kick me out. I had been there for about 10mins and the others came up for a smoke and i was fine sitting there in my own world and then woops i ended up watering the plant several times (it was dead the week after) and that was when faye was when faye saved me and walked me downstairs and forced me to get a taxi back and paid for it for me cos i spent all my money. So i got back ome vomed a couple more times and passed out untill faye came back.

The best bit was that i was drinking red wine so my vom was red so it must of looked like a murder scene every where i was sick.

All in all twas a good night.





Dan's started a solo project this was his first gig at the alchmey bar it was a good night and lots of drinking happened and faye copyed my activities from above later on when we go back home. I'm doing some photoshoots for dan in the next couple weeks so keep your eyes open for the pics soon.

We actually had some sun for a change and went to west park to hang out and soak it up played a bit of tennis, kicked a football around and drunk lots and lots of capri sun cos there on offer at asda so me and faye brought lots for everyone and ate some chrisps. Good times.

20.2.09 - 10.3.09

Another one coming soon. Only be a short one next time again cos I rinsed 22 photos of the film whilst I was drunk.



This is a shot of me and chris in the reflection of the windows at asda. We were in a lesson and went back to get my cameras and chris's holga camera so he could try a polo back in it which he borrowed of Christophe Dillinger who had come in to give us a talk on his work and experimental photography and give us a mini workshop on experimental photography(for more see blog).





Heavy mario kart session at faye's me and faye over the course of that weekend must of colectivly ranked up 24hrs of mario kart game play and both fully completed the game. ( i don't know what happend on the second picture its asda's shitty processing i think).





I seem to spend most of my time in the week in the library working my way through numerous photobooks and photocopying pictures for my projects. I do quite enjoy wasting hours apon hours looking at books though and i now have a massive list of books i want to buy. woops.





Couple photos from our alternitve processing lesson these are from when we did solvent transfers where you coat a photocopyed image with solvents and then roll them through on to another piece of paper to make a transfer (see blog for results) I really enjoy the affect from this.



Big printing session in the darkroom printing up fiber based photos of final images for projects spent many many days in here and most of them rushing to get final images done for deadlines.



Morning of assigment hand in and me and chris (and lynzo helping) are hard at work doing finishing touches to our work books and pressing our images to keep them flat (see machine top right) and doing finishing touches to the presentation of the images. The 4 images at the bottom are my final 4 images.



I sunk in to faye's lesson to distract her cos i finnished early.

2.2.09 - 16.2.09

As all photo projects have its ups and downs 10 year photo seems to be in a little bit of a boring slump lately sorry things have been lame and repetitive. Hopefully life should start getting more interesting for you guy's and I'll remember to take more photos of stuff and take the camera with me more stay tuned.



Chris over at chriscove.blogspot stole my camera and shot this. It's a shot from when our houseing situation next year went to shit about 30mins before the final two people whee ment to sing the papers. All due to people pulling out and friends in a completly seperate house getting pulled out on and left in the dark. Which made the 4 of us who had signed make a pretty awkward decison about who was going to be moving in with us which is made harded when you have to choose between 4 of your good friends 2 of which where pretty angry and another 2 pretty upset and feeling a little lost.

Things are sorted now and everything is all good. No doubt in due time you'll see pictures of the house and hopefully it should add another chapter to my story and 10yearphoto.







Another drunken kitchen party i don't really rember much other then me winding lynsey up in asda to the point she started throwing orange juice and piza at me and then later water in my kitchen.



Went to cardiff for valentines day and the england vs wales rugby game it was a really good fun weekend went to barry island home of gavin and stacy and went to penarth (see above) and spent lots of money in the 2p money machines in the arcades.

22.12.08 - 30.1.09

Speeding up again got another film in that will no doubt be done by the end of the week.




Went to faye's a few times over the Christmas break and went to landaff beach on one of my trips it was a pretty cool beach and i manged to fire through about 3 rolls of black and white film on lassy the hassy which if all gos to plan should be online in the next couple weeks.

On the way to cwmcarn me and hugo drove 4 hours and paid 40+ quid between us for the uplift service to the top of the hill and petrol etc and it was effing shut!!! We ended up riding anyway and we managed to push up 3/4s of the track after a hour trek with the bikes. Then we decided to just ride the lower section of the track. We did however mission up 3/4s of the track later with my 50lbs camera bag and hugos 20lbs camera bag to shoot some photos so look out for them soon aswell. I'll be pissed if there shit after all that effott.



Back at uni.



First couple week of uni ended up being a pretty expensive and heavy drinking session. consisting of foam partys, bucking bronco partys and pirate parties also a couple of party also a couple of partys in the halls. A couple times we eneded up at mine with russell, faye, lyndsy and chris making a general mess , eating pizza and having a fun time.
